Job summary

The NSW Department of Education is seeking a dedicated maintenance officer to support the upkeep of departmental schools across NSW. You will perform routine maintenance, assist with setting up and removing furniture and equipment for school activities, and report safety issues to ensure a safe learning environment.

Based at East Hills Technology High School or other sites, the role requires good planning, prioritising and communication with staff.

Qualifications

• Performs routine maintenance and upkeep of departmental schools.
• Assists with setting up and removing furniture and equipment for school activities.
• Identifies and reports maintenance and safety issues.
• Receives, stores and distributes supplies and monitors equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance tasks and report faults.
• Assist with the setup and removal of furniture and equipment for school activities.
• Identify and report safety and maintenance issues to ensure safe environments.
• Handle the receipt, storage and distribution of supplies and equipment.
• Liaise with school staff to coordinate upkeep activities.
• Maintain orderly records of maintenance tasks and safety reports.
