The Grounds Assistant role at Government schools supports the safety, presentation and upkeep of the school’s grounds, outdoor areas and facilities. Working under the Grounds and Maintenance Manager, you perform routine maintenance tasks, respond to day-to-day requests and help prepare the school for events and student programs.

You will carry out mowing, edging and basic repairs, operate grounds equipment safely, use online work platforms to update tasks, and liaise with staff and contractors

Formación

• Demonstrated ability to carry out grounds maintenance and basic repairs to facilities.
• Willingness to learn OH&S and WorkSafe procedures and report hazards.
• Ability to work with staff, students and contractors and follow directions.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out routine grounds work including mowing, edging and weed control.
• Perform basic repairs to facilities and outdoor equipment as trained.
• Use online platforms to view, update and close tasks.
• Ensure OH&S compliance and report hazards promptly.
• Assist in preparing grounds for events and student programs.
