Job summary

Catholic Education Northern Territory seeks a School Business Manager to lead financial operations, payroll, budgeting and governance across its schools. The role covers banking, BAS, asset management, and vendor contracts, with a focus on accurate reporting and strategic financial planning.

You will support school leadership, ensure compliance with Catholic education ethos, and manage HR administration and risk governance.

Qualifications

• Membership of a professional Accounting Body and a tertiary business qualification.
• Experience in financial and accounting operations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder management.
• Understanding the ethos of Catholic education and governance requirements.
• NT Working with Children Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee bank and direct debit reconciliations and ensure accounts balance.
• Monitor budget vs actuals and report variances to senior management and boards.
• Prepare BAS and stay compliant with GST/tax laws.
• Manage payroll end-to-end including STP and leave calculations.
• Oversee asset management, procurement, and vendor relations.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financials for boards and audits.
• Support school operations and governance reporting.
