Job summary

Cater Care is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen at a prestigious Western Australian school. You will oversee a dedicated team delivering fresh, nutritious meals to boarding house students and support school functions throughout the year.

This permanent, full-time role offers a school-term roster from 10:30am to 7:00pm, Monday to Friday, with a competitive salary of AU$90,000 plus Super. On-site parking, easy transport access and strong work–life balance are included.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
• Experience in leadership role in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
• Experience in education catering is essential.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
• Strong organisational, communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of chefs, kitchen hands, and catering assistants
• Create menus for daily meals, events, and functions
• Cook and deliver fresh meals that fuel students and staff
• Manage stock, ordering, and food cost control
• Oversee dinner service with another chef to ensure smooth operations
