Job summary

Avoca Beach Public School needs a part-time School Crossing Supervisor. You’ll oversee safe crossing for students before and after school during peak times, earning an hourly rate with superannuation and holiday pay.

Shifts run 8:30–9:30 and 2:50–3:50, Monday to Friday. Applicants must be 18+, and must obtain Working with Children Check, Police Check, and a Health Assessment. A Talent Pool may be created for future vacancies.

Avoca Beach Public School shifts fall between the school zone hours of 8:30AM – 9:30AM and 2:50PM – 3:50PM, Monday to Friday, with 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. School Crossings require 20 hours of supervising per fortnight.

You will receive an hourly rate along with superannuation, and you will also be compensated during school holidays from Terms 1 to 3.

About you

You're a community minded person who would like to contribute.

You’d get a kick out of making community relationships, keeping kids safe whilst earning a weekly wage for doing something you love and enjoy.

You're reliable and prepared to show up for your community - in good or bad weather.

You’ll display effective communication skills and be alert to potential dangers.

Applicants must be 18 years of age at the time of appointment. All training, uniforms and equipment will be provided. And one more thing! As you’ll be working with children on our roads, your willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check, Reference Checks, Police Check, and a Health Assessment is vital. Don’t worry if you haven’t done this before, we will help you through the process! If you already have a Working with Children Check, that’s fantastic as that will speed up the process.
