Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a casual School Crossing Supervisor to provide relief at sites across the Cumberland Local Government Area, Merrylands NSW. Shifts align with school hours, typically 8:00AM–9:30AM and 2:30PM–4:00PM, with a minimum one-hour shift when required, Monday to Friday during term time.

You’ll be a reliable community presence, building relationships with families while ensuring children’s safety on the roads. Training and uniforms are supplied.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age at appointment.
• Willing to obtain Working with Children Check, Police Check and Health Assessment.
• Training, uniforms and equipment are provided.

Responsibilities

• Relieve at Cumberland Local Government Area school sites.
• Assist with student safety during school start and finish times (8:00–9:30 and 2:30–4:00).
• Engage with the community to promote safe road use and be a familiar trusted presence.

In this Role, you’ll

Become a Road Safety Hero that is held in very high esteem in our communities and vital to the safety of our kids, parents, teachers and local motorists. You’ll also grow to be a much-loved familiar face around the school with a unique opportunity to touch the lives of countless families.

This is a casual position which will provide relief at sites in the Cumberland Local Government Area. Shifts may fall between the school zones hours 8:00AM to 9:30AM and 2:30PM to 4:00PM, with a minimum of one hour shift as and when required Monday to Friday during the school term.

You will receive an hourly rate along with superannuation.

About you

You're a community minded person who would like to contribute.

You’d get a kick out of making community relationships, keeping kids safe whilst earning a weekly wage for doing something you love and enjoy.

You're reliable and prepared to show up for your community - in good or bad weather.

You’ll display effective communication skills and be alert to potential dangers.

Applicants must be 18 years of age at the time of appointment. All training, uniforms and equipment will be provided. And one more thing! As you’ll be working with children on our roads, your willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check, Reference Checks, Police Check, and a Health Assessment is vital. Don’t worry if you haven’t done this before, we will help you through the process! If you already have a Working with Children Check, that’s fantastic as that will speed up the process.
