Qualifications

• Specialist expertise in clinical nursing assessment and ability to work as a sole health professional within schools.
• Adolescent public/school health, community health, health promotion or development paediatrics.
• Experience in effective client record management, activity recording, assessment and care planning.
• Cross Cultural Awareness and ability to relate to diverse cultures in school settings.
• Strong communication: clear, concise reports and written communications suitable for clients and colleagues.
• Analytical, conceptual and information seeking skills to address problems and drive improvements.
• Commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement in health service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Function as a sole practitioner in a school setting providing preventative health care and health education.
• Develop and evaluate planned evidence-based whole-of-school health promotion activities.
• Collaborate with school welfare teams and health staff to support student health outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of clinical activity, assessments and referrals.
• Communicate with families and external service providers to coordinate care.
• Adhere to departmental policies and professional codes and standards.
