Job summary

Gold Fields' St Ives Gold Mine is seeking an experienced Scheduling Underground Mining Engineer for a full-time role. You’ll join a diverse Mine Planning team, reporting to the Senior Engineer: Mine Planning, responsible for scheduling and planning underground operations and driving safe, cost‑effective production in line with short- and medium-term goals.

Ideal candidates may be from Perth or live locally in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie, with up to six months’ company accommodation for eligible

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Underground mining planning experience and WA operating context preferred.
• Proficiency with Deswik and Ventsim or similar planning software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise production schedules and integrated resource plans across mining operations.
• Manage integrated schedules and track progress using critical path analysis and risk reviews.
• Assist governance reporting to ensure adherence to the site's planning framework.

The Opportunity:

You’ll be a key member of a diverse and experienced Mine Planning team at St Ives Gold Mine.

Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Mine Planning, be responsible for scheduling and planning underground operations, driving safe, Planning, bed cost-effective production in line with both short- and medium-term plans and the strategic goals.

Up to six months’ free, company-provided accommodation may be available for eligible candidates from under-represented groups (for example, women in mining and Indigenous Australians) relocating to Kambalda for permanent roles.

Accommodation includes basic furnishings and utilities and is subject to availability and housing policy, with support available to assist with transitioning to a lease after the initial six-month period. Eligibility and final terms will be discussed during the recruitment process.”

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and optimise production schedules and integrated resource plans across mining and processing operations, ensuring alignment with medium-term planning and compliance requirements
• Manage integrated schedules and track progress using critical path analysis and risk reviews to achieve throughput targets across construction and operations.
• Assistcompliance reporting and governance activities to ensure adherence to the site’s 3MS and planning framework

What You’ll Bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, or a related discipline, plus and manual driver’s licence.
• A WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency or the ability to obtain one.
• Demonstrate strong underground engineering experience, preferably in gold operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and mining software such as Deswik and Ventsim.
