Job summary

Evolution Mining is seeking a Scheduling Engineer at Northparkes Operations to develop and maintain weekly underground schedules supporting production targets. You will work closely with Operations and Technical Services, ensure plans are achievable, and contribute to continuous improvement and safety.

Based at Northparkes with involvement in the E22 Underground Project, you will analyse variances, manage data, and collaborate across teams to optimise execution and mine design accuracy.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in underground hard rock mining with scheduling exposure.
• Proficiency with mine planning software (Deswik, Surpac, VentSim).
• Strong problem solving, planning and organizational skills.

What’s the opportunity?

As our Scheduling Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering safe, efficient and reliable underground mining operations. Working closely with Operations and Technical Services teams, you'll develop and maintain short-term mine schedules that support production targets and operational readiness.

Based at our Northparkes Operations and reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you’ll:

• Develop and maintain weekly development and production schedules.
• Monitor schedule performance, analyse variances and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and Technical teams to ensure plans are achievable and aligned.
• Prepare and issue mine designs, maintaining accurate planning data and version control.
• Identify risks, bottlenecks and constraints to support safe and efficient execution.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, safety and operational excellence.

Does this sound like you?

You are a motivated and proactive mining professional with experience in underground hard rock mining and a passion for planning, scheduling and continuous improvement. You can confidently analyse data, identify opportunities and communicate effectively with both technical and operational stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• A degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in underground hard rock mining, with exposure to mine scheduling and short-term planning.
• Strong technical capability using mine planning and scheduling software such as Deswik, Surpac and VentSim.
• Excellent problem solving, planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build productive working relationships across multiple teams.
• Experience in sub-level cave (SLC) or block cave operations will be highly regarded but is not essential.
