EPEC Group is seeking a SCADA Engineer to lead the development and delivery of Substation SCADA and Communications solutions for major solar and BESS projects. You will own end-to-end SCADA delivery, including design, schematics, data/IO loading lists and site integration across high-voltage facilities.

The role requires hands-on experience with SCADA, AVR control solutions and close collaboration with TNSPs, clients and internal teams. Occasional travel may be involved as projects advance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering with professional eligibility.
Around 3 years' experience on high-voltage projects.
Experience with AutoCAD and MS Office.
Knowledge of HV substation and transmission line design.
Construction White Card.
Strong communication and detail-oriented.
Engineering or project management certification is a plus.

The Role

EPEC Group is looking for a SCADA Engineer to lead the development and delivery of Substation SCADA and Communications solutions across our current and future projects.

This role covers communications and controls design, functional descriptions, electrical schematics and termination drawings, and data/IO/loading lists, giving you end-to-end ownership of SCADA delivery on complex, high-voltage projects.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development and delivery of Substation SCADA and Communications systems, including bench testing and site integration.
Drive the development of SCADA-based Transformer Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) control solutions.
Coordinate and conduct SCADA and Communications Proof of Concept and site acceptance testing with Transmission Network Service Providers (TNSPs).
Develop and manage SCADA points lists in line with TNSP, AEMO and client-specific requirements.
Identify optimisation and value engineering opportunities to improve SCADA and communication system performance and cost-effectiveness.
Resolve and close out SCADA-related issues in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Lead and manage multiple projects, overseeing scoping, resourcing, scheduling and issue resolution.
Develop and implement project controls, including quality assurance and document control.
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, clients and subcontractors from bidding through to project execution.
Provide SCADA engineering and technical support to the wider team.

About You

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (eligible for membership of Engineers Australia in the Professional Engineering category).
Around 3 years' experience as a project coordinator, project engineer or project manager on high-voltage projects.
Experience with AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with engineering codes, regulations, best practices and performance standards.
Understanding of high-voltage substation and transmission line projects, with experience in electrical design.
Construction White Card.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with strong written communication and attention to detail.
A professional engineering or project management certification would be an advantage, but is not essential.
Occasional travel may be required, which may at times involve being on a roster.
