Job summary

Eurofins Environment Testing Australia, part of Eurofins Scientific, is seeking a Graduate/Entry Level Sample Management Officer in Girraween, NSW. The role supports laboratory workflow, ensuring samples pass through the lab in an orderly manner, are stored correctly, and disposed of when finished.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, with the guidance of the Team Leader. Applicants should have engineering or science qualifications and be comfortable with MS Office.

Job Description

Sample Management Officer - Graduate / Entry Level | Full-Time | Girraween, NSW

• Monday to Friday; 8AM to 4PM

An extra 1.5% superannuation paid on top of National standard rate.

Reporting to the Team Leader, the SampleManagement Officer is responsible for ensuring that all samples effectively pass through the laboratory in an orderly fashion, that they are easily accessible by laboratory staff, and that they are removed from refrigeration and put in storage or disposed of, once completed.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Ensure “water samples” cool room is kept up to date and orderly.


• Ensure “soil samples” cool room is kept up to date and orderly.


• Ensure “hold samples” cool room is kept up to date and orderly.


• Ensure soil samples long term storage is kept up to date and orderly.


• Disposal of Water Samples.


• Disposal of Soil Samples.


• Disposal of Biosecurity Samples, under supervision.

Qualifications

• Engineering or Science qualifications and/or university master’s level qualifications, will be an advantage.


• Good knowledge of standard office applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel. General knowledge about systems, IT architecture and production control, will be an advantage.


• Strong numeracy and financial skills.


• General preference and comfort in technical environments.


• Ability to build and structure business plans, submissions and initiatives.


• Desire to continually learn and improve.


• An entrepreneurial spirit, with an eagerness to take the next step.
