Job summary

Xero is seeking an experienced Salesforce engineer to deliver well-structured features across Salesforce and connected sales tools over a 3–6 month horizon, tying outcomes to customer and business goals using data, insights and AI-aware trade-offs.

You will mentor teammates, improve engineering practices, and ensure reliable, zero-impact deployments while collaborating with sales and technical partners in a flexible hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Experience developing software using Apex, LWC, SOQL and declarative Salesforce tools.
• A practical approach to using AI responsibly across feature development, debugging, and system log analysis.
• Deep expertise in a key Salesforce area such as Sales Cloud, CPQ, Data Cloud, or integrations.
• Background in building and maintaining REST APIs and platform event integrations.
• Familiarity with source control, deployment tooling like Salesforce CLI, and continuous integration pipelines.
• Proven track record of handling production incidents, root-cause investigations, and quality assurance through TDD and trunk-based development.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills—the ability to explain technical concepts clearly, navigate competing priorities, and keep people aligned across functions.

Responsibilities

• Designing and delivering Salesforce features using Apex, Lightning Web Components, and declarative tools.
• Supporting connected sales tools and managed package upgrades (PandaDoc, Gong, Outreach).
• Setting up production monitoring, SLOs, and error handling while managing sandbox refreshes and release deployments.
• Mentoring team members, contributing to incident response, and ensuring reliable deployments.
