Job summary

Flight Centre is hiring Sales Travel Consultants across Australia. As a Flightie you will help customers plan itineraries, book travel and convert enquiries into bookings in person, over the phone and via email.

You will build a loyal customer base and work toward individual KPIs and sales targets, earning uncapped incentive payments on every sale. The role is full-time and on-site in a retail store with a rotating roster.

Qualifications

• Experience in selling travel products and handling customer inquiries.
• Strong customer service orientation with a proactive mindset.
• Excellent organisation to manage calendars, notes and follow-ups.
• Broad travel knowledge and enthusiasm for destination ideas and tips.
• Strong communication skills for phone, email and in person interactions.

Responsibilities

• Work full-time, on-site in a retail store on a rotating roster across a 7-day trade.
• Plan itineraries, book travel and convert enquiries into bookings in person, over the phone and via email.
• Meet individual KPIs and sales targets across flights, accommodation, car hire, tours, travel insurance, cruises, transfers, etc.
• Build a customer base from regular domestic bookings to international holidays.
• Assist customers with travel questions including visas, best travel times, packing, dining, and destinations.
• Earn a base wage plus uncapped incentive payments tied to sales.

What you’ll be doing - where your passion will meet purpose!

• Work full-time, on-site in one of our retail stores on a rotating roster across a 7-day trade
• Plan itineraries, book travel and convert enquiries into bookings in person, over the phone and via email for our customers
• Work towards individual KPIs and sales targets where you’ll sell the whole holiday including flights, accommodation, car hire, tours, travel insurance, cruises, transfers and more
• Build a customer base of new and returning customers from regular domestic bookings to lavish international holidays and everything in between
• Be the expert! Assist our customers with their travel related questions including visas, best time of year to travel, what to pack, where to eat, what to avoid, you name it!
• Enjoy a base wage plus an uncapped incentive payment structure where you earn a percentage of every sale, your pay is completely uncapped!

What we’re looking for - do you have the travel bug?

• You’re a seasoned traveller with a history of international destinations (and even more on your bucket list!) and you’re the go‑to person in your circle for travel recommendations, tips and tricks
• Great organisational skills - you’re the type to take notes, manage your calendar well and are quick to respond to your customer’s phone calls and emails
• Determination to meet your sales targets and KPIs while balancing your workload in a high‑pressure environment (think customers lining up, phones ringing, email inbox filling!)
• Enthusiasm, passion and a warmth that makes our customers want to book with you every time!
• A savviness with computers, ready to toggle between various complex systems when finding the right flight and package options for your customer
