We are seeking a commercially focused Sales Manager to lead sales performance and daily operations at our wholesale meat depot. This role is responsible for business growth through new customer acquisition, product sourcing, and stock strategy, while overseeing the team, safety, and compliance to ensure a high-performing sales operation.

We are seeking a commercially focused Sales Manager to lead sales performance and daily operations at our wholesale meat depot. This role is responsible for business growth through new customer acquisition, product sourcing, and stock strategy, while overseeing the team, safety, and compliance to ensure a high-performing sales operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the Sales team identifies and pursues new business opportunities and sources products to meet customer and market needs.
• Collaborate with various business units at JBS Australia, including those in our beef, lamb, and pork operations.
• Work closely with Finance and Sales to ensure stock levels and product mix support the sales strategy, minimising waste and maximising product availability.
• Support Finance with debtor control to minimise financial exposure. Manage budget and resource allocation plans to meet sales targets, and communicate these to Group Senior Leadership.
• Lead, motivate, and support the depot team, including sales, warehouse, and logistics staff, with a focus on operational efficiency, stock management, and effective problem resolution to drive sales success.
• Hold overall responsibility for site safety and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations under heavy vehicle legislation, ensuring compliant and reliable delivery of product to customers.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost efficiency, and approve SOX reports in line with group requirements.

About You

• Proven experience in a Depot, Site, or Operations Manager role with strong exposure to sales or account management, ideally within wholesale meat, food distribution, cold chain, or FMCG environments.
• Demonstrated success driving new business development and growing customer accounts.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, stock strategies, and financial exposure.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety legislation and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, including sales staff, in a fast-paced, target-driven setting.
• Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
