Job summary

SRG Global is seeking an experienced Safety Manager for the San Remo Bridge project in Victoria. This site-based role reports to the Construction Manager and drives a strong safety culture while supporting project delivery teams.

You will mentor site safety personnel, lead audits, and ensure compliance with policies and legislative requirements across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years' experience in HSE roles on major construction projects.
• Certificate IV in WHS required.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all site safety activities and compliance requirements.
• Develop, review and maintain the Site Management Plan (SMP).
• Facilitate toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits (daily/weekly/monthly).
• Drive continuous improvement through safety initiatives and campaigns.
• Oversee psychosocial risk assessments and workforce surveys.
• Monitor and report safety performance, trends and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and legislation.
• Manage subcontractor safety onboarding and ongoing compliance.
• Prepare and deliver detailed safety reports for project leadership.
• Mentor site-based safety personnel to build capability.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Manager to join our team on the San Remo Bridge project in Victoria. Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, this is a site-based leadership role responsible for driving a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance, and providing hands‑on support to project delivery teams.

This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in shaping project safety outcomes while mentoring and developing site‑based safety personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all site safety activities and compliance requirements


• Develop, review and maintain the Site Management Plan (SMP)

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Minimum 5+ years' experience in a HSE Advisor, Senior HSE Advisor or similar role


• Certificate IV in WHS required


• Previous leadership or management experience highly regarded


• Experience working on major construction, civil or infrastructure projects


• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills


• A proactive approach to safety leadership and culture development


• Proficiency in Myosh, Microsoft Office 365 and SafetyCulture platforms highly regarded
