Job summary

AECOM Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) Business Partner to support leaders and their teams across office and field environments on complex infrastructure and consulting projects. You will act as a trusted advisor, translating strategy into practical SH&E outcomes while collaborating across our ANZ network.

The role focuses on embedding SH&E programs into project planning and delivery, leading risk management activities, and championing mental health initiatives

Qualifications

• OHS or Environmental Science degree plus NEBOSH or equivalent qualification.
• Lead Auditor and ICAM Investigator certification.
• Significant experience in a senior SHE business partnering role in engineering, infrastructure or professional services.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to drive a proactive SH&E culture and provide pragmatic, commercially savvy advice.
• Develop, consult and implement SH&E programs and initiatives embedded into project planning.
• Lead risk management activities including audits and incident investigations for continuous improvement.
• Monitor performance trends and translate insights into actionable improvement plans.
• Champion psychosocial risk management and mental health initiatives within the ANZ SHE Team network.

We are hiring a Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) Business Partner based in any major AECOM office in Australia, to support our business leaders and their teams, across office and field environments on complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure and consulting projects. You will act as a trusted advisor, partnering with leaders to build a proactive SH&E culture, and translate strategy into practical outcomes while collaborating across our Australia–New Zealand (ANZ) network.

Job Description

• Partner with leaders to drive a proactive SH&E culture and provide pragmatic, commercially savvy advice.
• Collegiately develop, consult and implement SH&E programs and initiatives, embedding them into project planning and delivery.
• Lead risk management activities relevant to business lines, including audit and assurance programs, and support incident investigations to identify continuous improvements opportunities.
• Monitor performance trends and convert insights into actionable plans for continuous improvement.
• Champion psychosocial risk management and mental health initiatives, building strong relationships and being a part of the ANZ SHE Team network.

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role.

• Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or a related discipline, plus a recognised NEBOSH or equivalent professional qualification
• Lead Auditor and ICAM Investigator certified, with demonstrated incident investigation and auditing capability focused on actionable outcomes
• Significant experience in a senior SHE business partnering (or similar) role within engineering, infrastructure or professional services

• Proven track record in developing and sustainably implementing health, safety and environmental procedures and initiatives
• Strong understanding of SH&E risk management principles and their practical application in complex environments
