Job summary

Queensland Corrective Services in Lockyer Valley, QLD is seeking a Safety & Compliance Officer to support the Correctional Centre's local action plan. You will assist the Safety & Compliance Advisor to improve safety outcomes for staff, prisoners and visitors, and help ensure compliance with QA and risk management frameworks.

Queensland Corrective Services - Lockyer Valley QLD

The Custodial Operation Division is responsible for providing strategic oversight, governance and support for the effective delivery of 24/7 custodial services for public sector operated correctional facilities in Queensland. Custodial Operations is responsible for developing and monitoring performance standards for the delivery of probation and parole and custodial services throughout Queensland through key functional areas of operational practice and governance compliance and risk.

In this role you will support the Safety & Compliance Advisor of the Correctional Centre to enhance safety outcomes for staff, prisoners and visitors through the Correctional Centre Local Action Plan.

The Safety and Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the centre complies with QCS legislative, Quality Assurance and Risk Management frameworks, including monitoring compliance programs, reviewing policies and procedures, reviewing incidents and advising the Safety & Compliance Advisor of your findings.

The role forms part of the Centre Organisational Health & Performance team which is unique to the Lockyer Valley Correctional Centre. The team works with Centre management to embed a culture of safety through promoting work practices and behaviours that positively impact on the safety of staff, prisoners and visitors within the Centre.
