Job summary

Engine by Starling seeks a Solution Architect to explain the Engine platform, uncover client needs, and design solutions. You will bridge sales and delivery, shaping architecture while collaborating with Product, Tech, and Client Success teams.

Travel across Australia and New Zealand, with occasional further travel, will be required. You will own technical designs, build client relationships, and translate requirements into actionable architecture, APIs, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end software engineering and solution architecture.
• Proven ability to design RESTful services, OpenAPI specs, and sequence diagrams.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and large-scale cloud applications.
• Experience working in client-facing roles and communicating with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Explain Engine product and uncover client requirements.
• Lead technical designs during implementation and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Support both sales and delivery phases, driving client success.
• Travel nationally/internationally to client sites (AU/NZ) as needed.
• Document scope, roadmap decisions and translate needs into technical requirements.
• Champion technical excellence and guide client engineering teams and SI partners.
