Job summary

Bush Heritage Australia is offering a SA Ecology Intern (Ecological Monitoring and Analysis) to join the Seeding the Future team in Adelaide. This 22-week contract combines office data work with hands-on field experience to support biodiversity protection.

You will process, validate and analyse wildlife camera imagery, help with rabbit monitoring data, and contribute to conservation decision-making alongside our ecologists and reserve staff.

Qualifications

• Completed university qualification or TAFE Certificate III or higher in ecology, conservation, zoology, or related discipline.
• Strong data management, analysis and interpretation skills.
• Experience with data analysis software such as R, Python, ArcGIS or similar programs.
• Well-developed organisational, communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Process, validate and analyse wildlife camera imagery from monitoring programs.
• Assist with image classification review and dataset management.
• Contribute to analysis of rabbit monitoring data and conservation decision-making.
• Participate in fauna monitoring activities and field ecology work with reserve staff.
