Job summary

CommonAI CIC is a nonprofit focused on collaborative engineering for safe AI. We seek a Software Engineer to build Panopticon, a Rust-based framework with strict control and compliance, designed for high-regulation sectors like financial services and healthcare.

You will leverage LLMs, AI agents, and copilots to code, test, and refine features, while ensuring governance and security. Join a mission-driven team to advance safe AI infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building Rust systems and secure coding practices.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and systems programming.
• Direct experience with LLMs and AI agents in software development (prompting for code, code generation, and review).
• Familiarity with deploying AI in enterprise contexts (security, auditability, regulatory risk).
• Ability to optimize for latency, safety, and scalability in complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core components of Panopticon in Rust.
• Create secure execution environments, multi-model validation pipelines, and filtering systems to prevent data leakage and policy violations.
• Leverage LLMs and AI copilots to accelerate feature development and deployment while ensuring quality.
• Architect integration with foundation models and user environments under governance frameworks.
• Review AI-generated code for security and performance and develop AI-optimised CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with members to translate compliance protocols into production-ready software.
