Job summary

Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital is seeking a Staff Specialist in Paediatrics to join the paediatric and neonatal team serving the New England, North West and Upper Hunter region. The role includes neonatal resuscitation, high-risk deliveries and ongoing care in a busy unit.

The appointee will contribute to teaching, quality improvement and a robust neonatal program within a Level 3 service, with opportunities to lead clinical development.

Qualifications

• A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or overseas trained specialist pathways.
• Evidence of being a medical expert with recent and comprehensive experience in General Paediatrics.
• Evidence of scholarly activity and commitment to professional development.

Responsibilities

• Attend high-risk deliveries and provide neonatal resuscitation, stabilisation and ongoing care for infants born ≥32 weeks or ≥1500 g.
• Lead neonatal service development and work with NETS and John Hunter Children's Hospital.
• Provide care in Special Care Nursery including CPAP, phototherapy and sepsis management.
• Collaborate with paediatric and neonatal teams across the region and support trainees and staff.
