Job summary

FITT Resources Pty Ltd is seeking a hands-on Project Manager for Mechanical Services and Rotating Equipment in the Gladstone region. You will lead mechanical projects from enquiry and estimating through to execution and close-out, coordinating with Engineering, Workshop, Procurement and Site teams to ensure safety, on-time delivery and budget adherence.

The role requires strong estimating, client liaison and project control skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality mechanical maintenance

Qualifications

• Trade, engineering or technical qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Fitting or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated project management experience within mechanical maintenance, repair, refurbishment, manufacturing or industrial services
• Strong estimating and commercial skills
• Good understanding of project costing, budgets, margins and cost control
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and scopes of work
• Strong planning, scheduling and organisational skills
• Confidence dealing directly with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
• Practical understanding of workshop and site-based mechanical activities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects and competing priorities

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with existing and prospective clients
• Act as a key point of contact throughout the enquiry, quotation and project delivery process
• Attend client meetings, site inspections, scope reviews and project meetings
• Review client enquiries, drawings, technical specifications and scopes of work
• Develop detailed scopes of work, estimates and customer quotations
• Prepare labour, material, equipment and subcontractor cost estimates
• Manage projects from purchase order through planning, execution, delivery and final close-out
• Monitor project costs, budgets, margins, schedules and delivery commitments
• Identify, document and commercially manage project variations and additional works
• Provide clients with clear and timely updates on project progress, technical matters and commercial issues
