Job description

The Elms Early Learning Centre is a warm, community-focused early learning service located in Gosford, NSW. We provide high-quality long day care and early childhood education in a nurturing, play-based environment that supports children’s learning, wellbeing and development.

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Room Leader to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about early childhood education and confident in leading a room in line with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Framework (NQF).

About the Role

As a Room Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of a learning room, supporting children’s development while mentoring and guiding other educators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and implementation of educational programs in line with the EYLF
  • Create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment for children
  • Supervise, support and guide educators within the room
  • Maintain accurate documentation of children’s learning, development and wellbeing
  • Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
  • Ensure compliance with the National Quality Standard, policies and procedures
  • Support children’s health, safety and emotional wellbeing at all times
Skills and Experience
  • At least two years’ experience in a similar role
  • Sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Framework
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education and care
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management certificates (or willingness to obtain)
