Job summary

Young Academics Early Learning Centre in Canterbury seeks a passionate Room Leader to guide a team of educators, deliver inclusive programs, and ensure safety and wellbeing of children aged 0–6.

You will implement EYLF-aligned learning experiences, collaborate with families, maintain a safe environment, and uphold child-safety practices. The role runs Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 6 pm on a rotating roster.

Qualifications

• 12 months of demonstrated Room Leader experience planning, documentation, and implementing programs for children 0–6 years.
• Current First Aid training and CPR Certificate.
• Strong knowledge of the EYLF, NQS and sector regulations.
• Valid NSW Employee Working with Children Check.
• Commitment to upholding a Child Safe Organisation and inclusive practices.
• Mandatory National Child Safety Training.

• Maintain a safe environment, proactively managing risks and health/hygiene protocols.

• Build and maintain clear communication within the team, children and families, and nurture professional relationships.

About the Role

As a Room Leader at Young Academics, you will lead a team of educators to provide high-quality, inclusive education and care. You’ll inspire others through your experience, work closely with assistant educators and ensure every child in your care feels safe, supported and inspired to learn.

You will create meaningful learning experiences and environments that reflect best practice and align with our service philosophy. As a service, compliance and child safety remain our highest priority, and you will be expected to uphold our child-safe practices in all aspects of your role.

You will also collaborate with fellow educators to build strong, respectful partnerships with children, families and the wider community, fostering a supportive environment that enhances children’s wellbeing, confidence, and lifelong love of learning.

This position is a full-time role - Monday to Friday between 6:30 am - 6 pm (rotating roster).

About You

• Minimum 12 months of demonstrated Room Leader experience in planning, documentation, and implementing programs for children 0-6 years with regards to current pedagogies and frameworks.


• Certificate III or Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or a Bachelor's in Early Education and Care from a nationally approved registered training organisation.


• Strong knowledge of the EYLF, NQS and sector regulations
