Job summary

Teys Australia invites applicants for 2027 Rockhampton apprentice intake. You will join the Maintenance team to maintain the meat processing plant and its equipment while you work toward your trade qualification through a registered training provider.

The program runs for four years full-time, with school-based options and ongoing on-the-job training. You must be 18+ at start, locally based, and willing to undergo medical checks and vaccinations as required.

Qualifications

• Must commit to a 4-year full-time apprenticeship including TAFE.
• Be over 18 on commencement – January 2027 – Full time
• School-based apprenticeships considered if applicable
• Live locally in the Rockhampton region
• Pass a pre-employment medical check including urine drug and alcohol test
• Q-Fever vaccinated (or willing to obtain)
• Provide two professional/school references
• Completed work experience or casual work in your chosen field
• Experience using basic hand and power tools
• Completed relevant pre-vocational training courses in your chosen field

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Rockhampton meat processing plant and equipment.
• Support day-to-day production requirements.
• Gain hands-on experience across equipment and systems with training support.
• Work toward your trade qualification through a reputable training provider.
