Job summary

The Melbourne Bionics Company in Notting Hill VIC 3168 is seeking a Full-time Engineering Technologist to join our hardware and software engineering team. You will design, prototype, test, and validate embedded systems and mechatronic solutions for advanced sports technology devices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering.
• Experience in computer network setup and maintenance.
• Proficiency in CAD and simulation software, including SolidWorks and ANSYS CFD.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML tools such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Excellent organisational skills, with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, integration, and implementation of engineering solutions involving mechanical, electrical, electronic, and embedded systems.
• Design, assemble, configure, and validate engineering prototypes and reference systems, including hardware integration, subsystem testing, and performance verification.
• Analyse test results, identify technical issues, and implement engineering modifications to improve system performance and resolve design limitations.
• Apply engineering principles and emerging technologies to improve existing systems, optimise performance, and enhance reliability, efficiency, and functionality.
• Develop and execute testing procedures to evaluate system operation, component performance, reliability, safety, and compliance with engineering specifications.
• Review engineering work programs, project requirements, and technical procedures to ensure accuracy, feasibility, quality, and alignment with project objectives.
• Coordinate engineering activities involving design, prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and system integration while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
• Evaluate engineering products and systems through technical assessments, benchmarking, and application analysis to support product development and market implementation
