Job summary

SMEC in Sydney seeks Senior & Associate Engineers - Roads & Highways (Utilities) to lead planning, design and delivery of major transport projects. You will coordinate utilities, manage risks and guide junior engineers within a multidisciplinary group to deliver high-quality outcomes for NSW and nationwide clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 6 to 12 years in roads and highways engineering with utility coordination.
• Experience with TfNSW is highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and Austroads guidelines.
• Advanced capability in 12d Model and related software.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design and delivery of roads and highways with utility coordination.
• Provide technical leadership on utility conflicts, relocations and service impacts.
• Lead utility authority engagement and approvals to meet project objectives.
• Develop, review and approve engineering designs using 12d Model and other tools.
• Ensure outputs comply with Australian Standards and SMEC quality systems.
• Prepare and oversee technical reports, specifications and design documentation.
• Manage project packages, budgets and resources to support outcomes.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams for integrated, practical design solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
• Build relationships with utility providers, clients and authorities.
