Job summary

The RNA Innovation Foundry at The University of Western Australia is seeking a Research Assistant to support day-to-day operations of a specialised RNA manufacturing laboratory. You will assist with reagent prep, inventory, purchasing, and equipment upkeep, contributing to timely product delivery and quality records.

You will coordinate project tracking and customer communications, ensuring stakeholders are informed of schedules and progress.

Qualifications

• Diploma-level qualification with relevant work experience in genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry or related disciplines.
• Knowledge of basic bioinformatics or data analysis tools.
• Ability to follow established laboratory protocols and workflows.
• Well-developed organisational skills with attention to detail and detailed records.
• Strong written and verbal communication for a research support environment.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of a specialised RNA manufacturing laboratory: reagent prep, inventory, consumables purchasing and equipment upkeep.
• Coordinate project tracking, customer communications and product delivery, ensuring stakeholders are informed of schedules and progress.
• Contribute to lab quality and efficiency through accurate record keeping, data management and SOP support.
