Healthcare Australia is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver holistic, person-centred healthcare services to detainees. You will assess, plan, coordinate, and deliver care in collaboration with medical and allied health professionals, focusing on wellbeing and positive health outcomes.

Requirements include unrestricted AHPRA registration (Division 1) and a minimum of 5 years post‑registration experience; postgraduate qualifications are desirable.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
• Minimum of 5 years’ post-registration clinical experience.
• A relevant postgraduate qualification is highly desirable, with experience in drug and alcohol, primary healthcare, correctional, detention, or other complex care settings.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments, develop care plans, and deliver evidence-based nursing care, including chronic disease management.
• Perform clinical procedures including medication administration, immunisations, wound care, blood collection, and other nursing interventions.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and external healthcare providers while delivering health education and promotion.

Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.

In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions. HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees.

As a Registered Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering holistic, person-centred healthcare services to detainees. Working collaboratively with medical practitioners, allied health professionals and other healthcare team members, you will support the assessment, planning, coordination and delivery of healthcare services that promote wellbeing and positive health outcomes.

This role offers a diverse clinical workload and the opportunity to utilise a broad range of nursing skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.
