NSW Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Older Persons Mental Health Unit at St George Hospital, Kogarah. The role focuses on delivering recovery-oriented, person-centered care to older adults with mental illness, coordinating assessments, and supporting families within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
• Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery and to guide others in providing service excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality nursing care in a Mental Health setting.
• Undertake comprehensive assessments and develop care plans.
• Support consumers and their families and contribute to positive clinical outcomes.
• Deliver recovery-oriented, person-centered care to older adults (65+) with mental illness.
• Work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care.
