Job summary
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) seeks a Registered Nurse for Triage and Assessment at Nepean Mental Health Centre. You will conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and work across ED, PECC, and inpatient teams to support timely decisions.
The role emphasizes person-centred, culturally sensitive care, strong communication, and flexibility to cover day/evening/night shifts in a multi-disciplinary setting.
Qualifications
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA.
- Experience and clinical skill in Nursing, including completion of a New Graduate Registered Nurse program or equivalent.
- Ability to provide person-centred, family-inclusive and culturally sensitive care.
- Ability to organise and prioritise work.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to professional development.
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Flexibility to roster across day/evening/night shifts on all days.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality mental health assessments to support timely decision-making.
- Collaborate with Emergency Department, PECC, Mental Health Access Services and inpatient teams.
- Deliver safe, compassionate and recovery-oriented care throughout the patient journey.
