Job summary

As a Risk-Based Capital Advisor, you’ll calibrate, operate, and enhance our internal capital model to inform strategic decisions across the business. Your work ensures accurate capital allocation, supports pricing and investment strategies, and influences board-level recommendations.

What You’ll Do
  • Calibrate, document, and maintain the Risk-Based Capital model for the Australian insurance entity and consolidated group
  • Analyse premium, claims, and financial data to produce accurate model inputs and actionable insights
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate results to management and the board
  • Enhance and develop the model to meet regulatory and business requirements
  • Support capital allocation, pricing, reinsurance strategies, and investment analysis
What You’ll Bring
  • Tertiary qualifications in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or related field
  • Progress toward or completion of Fellowship with the Actuaries Institute (or equivalent)
  • Experience in actuarial roles within insurance, preferably general insurance
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills with proficiency in Excel and VBA; Python or SAS experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Dynamic Financial Analysis tools (e.g., Igloo) and stochastic modelling highly desirable
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment
