Job summary

Datadog is seeking a Technical Escalations Engineer II (Revenue and Cost Management) to drive usage visibility and cost optimization across APJ. You will handle complex escalations, collaborate with Engineering and Product, and mentor teams worldwide.

You will work in a fast-moving, hybrid environment that values curiosity, ownership, and technical excellence, shaping the future of observability and security at scale.

Qualifications

• Curious and detail-oriented about how usage is measured, attributed, and billed.
• Strong grasp of cloud cost drivers, usage attribution, and spend analysis.
• Familiar with cloud billing models (AWS, Azure, GCP) and APIs to billing exports.

Responsibilities

• Become the expert on usage metering, revenue-impacting behavior, and Cloud Cost Management within Technical Solutions.
• Lead escalations involving usage spikes, billing anomalies, or quota issues.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Finance to expedite bug escalation and improve usage visibility and billing fairness.
• Build internal guides, tooling, diagnostics, and playbooks for billing- and revenue-related questions.
• Enable the Solutions team by running training sessions and creating scalable resources.
• Act as a voice of the customer, surfacing feedback to shape the roadmap for usage visibility and cost management.
