Job summary

Sportsgirl is looking for a Business Manager to oversee 13 stores in South Australia. Job description

As our new Business Manager for South Australia, you will manage your region of stores to maximise profitable sales growth through effective leadership of your teams. You will ensure the productive implementation of merchandise, marketing and operational strategies for your stores and work closely with many areas of our wider business as part of The Sussan Group.

As an effective and encouraging leader and people manager, you will be flexible and adaptable in motivating individuals and teams in a way that inspires high performance and delivers business outcomes. With demonstrated experience in developing large teams and an understanding of a multi‑brand role, you will be a valued team member with a great opportunity to drive change and make a key impact.

Managing 13 Sportsgirl stores and teams, this position will be required to carry out administrative activities from home one day per week as well as travel regularly across your region (valid driver’s licence required).

Key duties and responsibilities

• All areas of leadership and people management including training and development, onboarding, performance management
• Implement best practice across the business in terms of sales, wages, expenses and productivity across stores
• Ensure Store Managers are effectively trained in key performance measures
• Financial management of your stores
• Ensure all customers have a positive experience in stores across your region
• Brand management through effective visual merchandising, promotions, signage
• Stock Management, manage stock performance, maximise profitability and optimum stock placement

To be successful in this role, you must have

• Experience in a people management leadership role
• Demonstrated experience in financial management including reporting, benchmarking and analysis
• Previous experience managing and dealing with a wide range of people across various situations
• High negotiation and influencing skills
• Customer service and sales focused approach
• Business acumen and business planning skills
• Solid knowledge of the General Retail Industry Award (ideal)
