Job summary

Mercor is partnering with a leading legal AI company to run a blinded human-preference study. We seek experienced restructuring and insolvency lawyers to act as expert reviewers—reading a realistic matter, reviewing six AI-generated deliverables, and recording preferences with written reasoning.

You will assess correctness, completeness, and usefulness while working independently to a deadline under NDA; external AI tools are not allowed.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified lawyer with substantive experience in restructuring and insolvency law.
• Demonstrated ability to judge legal work product with precision and sound judgment.
• Excellent written English with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Read a synthetic legal matter and its underlying documents.
• Review six blinded AI deliverables (A–F) for the matter.
• Make five head-to-head comparisons against a common comparator output.
• Provide a short, specific written rationale for every preference.

We are hiring experienced restructuring and insolvency lawyers to serve as expert reviewers — reading a realistic legal matter, reviewing six AI-generated work products for it, and recording which they prefer with written reasoning.

What you'll do

• Read a synthetic legal matter and its underlying documents
• Review six blinded AI deliverables (labelled A–F) for that matter
• Make five head-to-head comparisons against a common comparator output
• Write a short, specific rationale for every preference

Practice scope

Chapter 11 first-day motions, Section 363 sales and bid evaluation, cross-class plan treatment and plan objections.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with substantive practice experience in the areas above
• Able to judge work product holistically — correctness, completeness, judgment, usefulness
• Precise written English
• Able to work independently to written instructions and a deadline

Logistics

• Commitment: ~18 hours across the engagement. One matter in this pod (a full first-day motions package) is materially larger than the others.
• Confidentiality: all work is covered by NDA. External AI tools must not be used on any project material.
