Job description
Restaurant Supervisor / Manager & Barista / All‑Rounder

Stanley in Central is a licensed bistro and café serving specialty coffee, international flavours, and curated drinks. We’re a small but busy team, so every shift counts — and we’re looking for hands‑on hospitality professionals to join us.

Open Roles

We’re expanding our team and looking for two passionate professionals to join us:

Restaurant Supervisor / Manager

We’re seeking a motivated and hands‑on leader to oversee our front‑of‑house operations and work closely with the owners to drive service excellence. This is an ideal role for someone ready to step up from a senior FOH or assistant manager position into a leadership role with genuine growth potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate the front‑of‑house team during service
  • Ensure exceptional guest experiences from arrival to departure
  • Oversee daily operations including opening and closing procedures
  • Manage rosters, shift wages, and on‑the‑floor team performance
  • Handle customer feedback and resolve complaints professionally
  • Support training, inductions, and development of new team members
  • Maintain high standards of presentation, service, and cleanliness
  • Collaborate with owners on menu updates, promotions, and events
What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a busy restaurant or café
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
  • A genuine passion for hospitality, food, and guest care
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and evenings
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary or hourly rate based on experience
  • Work directly with the owners in a supportive team
  • Career progression and training opportunities
  • Staff meals and discounts across our sister venue
  • A positive, respectful environment where your input matters
Barista / All‑Rounder

We’re looking for an energetic and reliable Barista / All‑Rounder who’s passionate about coffee, food, and friendly service. You’ll play a key role in our daily café operations — from crafting quality coffee to delivering warm and attentive table service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve quality espresso coffee and beverages
  • Take customer orders and process POS/EFTPOS payments
  • Assist with food service, takeaway, and table clearing
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient work area
  • Support daily opening and closing duties
  • Provide excellent customer service in a friendly, fast‑paced environment
What We’re Looking For
  • At least 1 year of experience in café or hospitality settings
  • Confident in coffee‑making and basic latte art
  • Friendly, professional, and reliable with strong teamwork skills
  • Flexible and proactive — able to handle rush periods with ease
  • Understanding of food handling and hygiene standards
  • RSA certification (preferred, or willingness to obtain)
What We Offer
  • $27–$35 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Staff meals and beverages during shifts
  • Supportive, close‑knit team environment
  • Training in specialty coffee and guest service
  • Flexible roster with both weekday and weekend shifts
