Job summary

Oaks Port Douglas Resort is expanding its housekeeping department with a Houseperson / Common Area Cleaner role on a casual basis. You will maintain guest floors, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, supporting the team to ensure cleanliness and presentation.

Candidates should have hotel or resort experience, strong attention to detail, physical fitness, and flexibility to work weekends and public holidays. Training provided; shifts may include early mornings and varied hours.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a resort or hotel is highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good physical fitness and stamina for repetitive tasks like lifting and standing.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all common guest areas to the highest standards.
• Stock, replenish, and organise housekeeping carts and supplies.
• Set up and reconfigure guest rooms, including beds and cots.
• Empty rubbish bins and dispose of waste per procedures.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily cleaning targets and smooth operations.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures for a safe environment.
• Operate cleaning equipment with training and proper use of products.
• Build strong professional relationships with team members and guests.
