Job summary

MacKillop Family Services seeks Residential Support Workers to support women and children experiencing family violence in a safe, trauma-informed setting. The role involves individualised support, housing stability, and collaboration with external services to ensure holistic care.

The successful candidate will bring qualifications in social work or community services, plus experience with complex needs and a commitment to values such as community, hospitality, and justice.

Qualifications

• Must have qualification in social work, community services, or related field.
• Experience supporting women and children with complex needs (family violence, homelessness, mental health, AOD).
• Commitment to values: Community, Hospitality, Compassion, Justice.
• Inclusive, flexible, and non-judgmental practice.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Understanding of feminist, intersectional, anti-oppressive practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed residential support for women and children in a safe, supportive environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external services to deliver holistic support.
• Maintain professional boundaries and wellbeing; commit to ongoing learning.
• Apply client-led, gender-informed practices to support safety and independence.
• Engage with families to promote stability and transitions between services.
