Make a Real Difference in a Young Person's Life — Join Kanda's CYF Team
Kanda is one of Queensland's leading Child Safety providers, and we're looking for caring, dedicated people to join our Children, Youth & Family Services (CYF) team. In this role, you won't just be doing a job — you'll be a steady, trusted presence in the lives of children and young people, helping them feel safe, build confidence, and work towards a brighter future. Our team works within the Sanctuary Model of Care, giving you a strong, supportive framework to guide the way you connect with and care for the young people in our residential settings.
What your days will look like:
- Being a positive role model — someone kids can look up to, feel safe with, and learn resilience from
- Providing warm, everyday care and joining in fun recreational activities that build connection and trust
- Helping children develop life skills in a supportive, encouraging way, and celebrating their wins through praise and positive reinforcement
- Keeping the residential home running smoothly — from cooking and cleaning to general household upkeep — so it feels like a real home
- Stepping into a leadership role: guiding your team, building a positive culture, and keeping the focus on quality care
- Working closely with the Case Manager to help shape and deliver strategies tailored to each child's needs
- Keeping documentation up to date and running smoothly within the team
- Leading team meetings and helping new team members settle in through shadow shifts
- Coordinating tasks across the team to keep things running well
- Being flexible with shift work, including in-home sleepovers, as part of providing round-the-clock care
What you'll bring:
- Flexibility to work across a 7-day/night roster, including some weekends, public holidays, night shifts and overnight sleepovers
- Experience in a similar senior role is a bonus, but not essential — we value the right attitude just as much
- A Certificate IV (completed or currently studying) in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Disability, Mental Health, or Community Services
- Strong emotional self-regulation and the ability to set calm, consistent boundaries
- Great attention to detail and time management when it comes to documentation and shift reports
- Confident written and verbal communication skills, along with comfort using Microsoft Office and web-based tools
- A current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening (or Yellow Card)
- A clear Child Safety and Criminal History Screening (LCS2)
- A valid driver's licence
What we offer you:
- Ongoing learning and development, including TCI training
- Free annual flu vaccination
- Reimbursement to keep your First Aid & CPR certifications current
- Access to our CEO Scholarship Program
- 24/7 support through the Sonder complete care platform
- Corporate healthcare partnerships
- The flexibility to swap locations across QLD
- Training in the Sanctuary Model of Care Framework
- Recognition programs, including Employee of the Month and 5 & 10-year Service Awards
Are you ready to bring warmth, patience, and leadership to a role that truly changes lives?
