The University of Melbourne invites applications for a full-time, fixed-term (2 years) software engineer within the Infectious Disease Dynamics Unit. You will develop open-source tools to support epidemic forecasting and scenario modelling through modern web interfaces and cloud-backed services.

You will collaborate with epidemiologists, statisticians and data scientists, implement data security practices, and produce documentation to enable scalable, reusable tools in population health research.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or similar computational field.
• Experience designing research software using R, Python, JavaScript or equivalent.
• Familiar with modern web interfaces, visualisations and cloud services.

• Plan, design, develop, test and deploy open-source research software for forecasting hubs.
• Create modern web interfaces and dashboards with secure back-end integration.
• Engage software users and collaborators via code repositories and forums.
