Job summary

University of New South Wales seeks a Research Associate to develop and validate AI-powered methods for sustainable last-mile logistics. The appointee will work with UNSW and Adiona Tech on a CRC-P project, translating research prototypes into a commercial-scale platform for real-world networks across Australia.

The position is a 0.8 FTE UNSW appointment with a 0.2 FTE appointment through Adiona Tech, based on campus in Kensington, Sydney, for 12 months with potential extension.

Qualifications

• PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
• Disciplines may include transport engineering, computer science, AI, data science, ML, OR, math or statistics.
• Proven commitment to keeping up with discipline knowledge and developments.
• Ability to conduct independent research with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate AI-powered methods for sustainable freight and last-mile logistics.
• Translate research prototypes into a commercial-scale platform for Australian networks.
• Collaborate with UNSW, Adiona Tech and industry partners on datasets and software.
• Publish findings and present at conferences as appropriate.
