About the Opportunity

We are accepting applications for a Rescue Crew Officer to join our Aviation & Critical Services team in Rockhampton supporting our operations with Cap Rescue and Queensland Health. Rescue Crew Officer is an entry level role with preference given to those with a background in lifeguarding or emergency services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain flying currency and conduct safe flight operations complying with CASR contractual and company policies and procedures;
  • Report promptly on all operations and maintenance deficiencies;
  • Complete pre‑flight and post‑flight inspection checks and documentation;
  • Interact successfully with aircrew, client staff, health staff, members of the general public and stakeholders;
  • Operate safely and efficiently in a small team environment;
  • Assist the medical team where required and within the boundaries of your ability;
  • Perform hoist rescue missions over land by day and night over water and to vessels;
  • Perform the duties of a Rescue Crew Officer during HEMS and SAR missions;
  • Assist with the ongoing maintenance and inspection of base and role equipment;
  • Conduct aircraft flight preparation (refuelling, towing, washing and post‑flight husbandry);
  • Assist the Aircrew Officer and Medical Transport Specialists when requested and within ability.
About you
Essential Requirements
  • Fit, motivated and professional;
  • CASA Class 2 medical certificate;
  • Be able to successfully complete the Babcock Rescue Crew Officer fitness assessment;
  • Meet the requirements of the Queensland Health Preventable Diseases Policy;
  • Ability to relocate to Rockhampton.
Desirable Requirements
  • Current HUET / HUET & EBS qualification;
  • Senior First Aid and Advanced Resuscitation;
  • DG Aware or DG Pack and Accept Air;
  • Flying experience;
  • In water rescue experience / emergency services experience.
