Job summary

Laing O’Rourke is selecting a Reporting Manager to lead the planning, delivery and governance of project reporting for Australia’s ANI/NPSCY program. You will supervise a team of reporting professionals and collaborate with PMO leaders to deliver executive-level insights and data-driven decisions.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in project reporting across major infrastructure, defence or construction, with strong BI capabilities and stakeholder influence.

Qualifications

  • Ten years' experience in project reporting, controls, PMO, BI or performance management on major infrastructure/defence projects.
  • Experience leading reporting functions and developing executive-level reporting frameworks.
  • Australian citizenship with ability to obtain NV1 security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, coordination and delivery of reporting outputs across the Integrated Delivery Office (IDO).
  • Manage and guide a team of reporting coordinators and BI professionals.
  • Define reporting requirements with functional leads and ensure timely, accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of agreed reporting outputs across the Integrated Delivery Office (IDO).
  • Manage and support a team of reporting coordinators and business intelligence professionals responsible for reporting requirements, reporting calendars and project performance insights.
  • Collaborate with Functional and Area Leads to define reporting requirements and ensure timely, accurate and consistent reporting outcomes.
  • Work closely with PMO Leads and Integrated Delivery Office Executives to understand business challenges and develop reporting artefacts that support effective decision-making.
  • Develop reporting approaches that recognise varying levels of operational maturity across delivery teams and support successful ANI outcomes.
  • Drive the development and implementation of innovative reporting solutions, leveraging digital technologies, data analytics and visualisation tools.
  • Manage reporting inputs from supply chain partners, including coordination, review, quality assurance and integration into consolidated IDO reporting.
  • Liaise with IT and digital teams to align reporting systems, data requirements and technology solutions.
  • Lead reporting governance, ensuring data integrity, consistency and compliance with project and client requirements.
  • Provide leadership across a team of reporting managers, including direct and functional reporting lines, while fostering collaboration across the broader IDO.
About You
  • 10 years' experience in project reporting, project controls, PMO, business intelligence or performance management roles on major infrastructure, defence or construction programs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading reporting functions and developing executive-level reporting frameworks within complex delivery environments.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with proven experience managing teams across direct and matrix reporting structures.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and networking skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and functional teams.
  • Strong analytical capability and experience translating complex project data into meaningful insights and reporting outcomes.
  • Good understanding of digital technologies, business intelligence tools and data visualisation solutions.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and navigate complex organisational environments.
  • Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
