Job description

About Avant

Avant is Australia's leading medical defence organisation, with a proud heritage of protecting Australian medical professionals for over 130 years. Established in 1893 by a small group of doctors who wanted to protect themselves from actions arising out of the practice of medicine, Avant now represents 82,000 health practitioners and medical students across every state and territory.
As a mutual organisation owned by members and run purely for their benefit, our members are at the centre of everything we do. Beyond delivering market-leading products and services, we play a broader community role, advocating for improvements in the healthcare system and championing quality, safety, and professionalism in medicine through education and research.
Today, more than 50% of Australia's doctors choose to be Avant members. Backed by ~850 staff, we generate annual revenue of $445 million and hold net assets of approximately $1.4 billion.

About the Role

We're looking for a deeply analytical individual to join our Pricing and Analytics team as a Reporting and Insights Analyst. This role is pivotal in supporting Avant's commitment to delivering top-tier customer service. You'll interpret vast amounts of data and translate it into meaningful, actionable insights that shape how we understand customer behaviour, satisfaction, and opportunity.
Working closely with Customer Experience and other cross-functional teams, you'll develop and maintain reporting solutions that help the organisation better understand and serve its members.

This is a Full time role based in Sydney.

Responsibilities
  • Data Collection and Management: Collect, validate, and preprocess data from various customer touchpoints and internal systems. Lead end-to-end migration of data sources (e.g. surveys) between systems, including design, technical development, quality assurance, and execution.
  • Insight Generation: Apply statistical and data mining techniques to uncover insights into customer behaviours, preferences, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Reporting: Build comprehensive reports and dashboards that reflect key customer experience metrics, trends, and insights for stakeholders across the business. Proactively identify reporting gaps and work with stakeholders to close them.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and analytical techniques to strengthen how the organisation understands and caters to its customers.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Lead engagement across cross-functional initiatives and pilot programs and run workshops to help stakeholder teams get the most from relevant dashboards.
  • Professional Development: Stay current on trends and techniques in data analytics, customer experience, and reporting tools through ongoing learning.
