Job summary

The University of Queensland offers a part-time Reporting and Data Analyst role based at SQRH Toowoomba. You will collect, analyse, validate and report data across Rural Health programs, turning complex information into timely insights to support planning, funding obligations and performance.

Working with clinical, operational and executive stakeholders, you will develop dashboards and automated reports using Power BI, Excel and SQL to improve data quality and drive evidence-based decisions.

Qualifications

  • Degree in information management, business analytics, data analytics, statistics, information technology or a related discipline.
  • Experience in data extraction, analysis, interpretation and reporting within a complex organisational environment.
  • Experience building reports, dashboards and data visualisations with Power BI, Excel and SQL or similar tools.
  • Ability to develop measures, dashboards and reports to support decision-making.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify trends and variations.
  • Experience maintaining data quality and performing validation / QA activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage priorities and collaborate across a diverse organisation.

Southern Queensland Rural Health Part-time (60% FTE), fixed-term position for up to 2 years

Base salary will range from $97,268 to $104,348 (HEW Level 6) + 17% Super Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are strongly encouraged to apply Based at SQRH Toowoomba

About This Opportunity

Join a collaborative and purpose-driven team working to improve health outcomes across rural, regional and remote Queensland by helping to strengthen the rural health workforce. As the Reporting and Data Analyst, you will collect, analyse, validate and report data across key Southern Queensland Rural Health programs and services. Working closely with clinical, operational and executive stakeholders, you will turn complex information into timely, meaningful insights that support operational management, strategic planning, funding obligations and organisational performance. You will also help create change through improved data quality, intelligent dashboards, automated reporting and accessible business intelligence solutions.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Coordinate accurate and timely reporting for the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training program and support reporting processes for the Nursing and Allied Health Graduate Outcomes Tracking program.
  • Produce clinic activity, utilisation and performance reports across clinical, educational, student support and operational services.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and visualisations that enable stakeholders to monitor organisational performance, service delivery and program outcomes.
  • Analyse trends, identify variations and improve reporting efficiency through automation, standardisation and self-service reporting solutions.
About You

Completion of a degree in information management, business analytics, data analytics, statistics, information technology or a related discipline, with subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education or training.

  • Demonstrated experience in data extraction, analysis, interpretation and reporting within a complex organisational environment.
  • Experience developing and maintaining reports, dashboards and data visualisations using Microsoft Power BI, Excel, SQL or similar reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop performance measures, dashboards and reports that support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, patterns, variations and opportunities for improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining data quality and undertaking validation and quality assurance activities.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and build collaborative working relationships across a diverse organisation.
