Job summary

Victoria University Online is seeking an experienced Law Subject Matter Expert to author and develop a complete postgraduate law unit for the online Juris Doctor program, working with our Learning Design and Academic teams.

You will translate Australian legal concepts into engaging online learning experiences, develop cases and resources, and ensure alignment with current Australian law and institutions within agreed timelines.

Qualifications

Two of the following qualification pathways must be met: a LLB and a Master of Laws plus at least five years of teaching/professional experience in the last 10 years; OR a PhD in Law or JD.
Experience teaching Australian Legal Systems, Criminal Law, Procedure and Reform, Tort Law and Reform, and Contracts and Reform is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

Author and develop a complete postgraduate law unit.
Create Unit Blueprint with assessments, rubrics, and weekly topics.
Produce Six Storyboards covering weekly topics, content, and activities.
Translate complex Australian legal concepts into clear online learning experiences.
Develop relevant legal examples, case studies, and learning resources.
Ensure content reflects contemporary Australian law, institutions and practices.
Co-design with Learning Designers to align content with requirements and outcomes.
Complete deliverables within project timelines.
