Job summary

My Emergency Doctor, Australia’s leading emergency telemedicine provider, invites General Practitioners and Rural Generalists to join our virtual care team serving rural hospitals and aged care facilities.

You’ll work remotely with flexible hours, delivering Virtual Admission Service, managing chronic disease for remote communities, and serving as the primary GP team for RACFs, with full training and supportive clinical governance.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration.
• FRACGP or similar preferred.
• Indemnity policy covering telehealth.
• Comfortable with digital tools (full training provided).
• Strong collaboration skills with rural health teams.
• Reliable internet and quiet, private space for calls.
• Availability to work on consecutive days.

Responsibilities

• Virtual Admission Service (VAS): Provide inpatient management as a ward doctor for low-acuity patients in smaller hospitals.
• Aged Care (RACFs): Act as the primary GP team for residents, delivering ongoing care and clinical oversight.
• Chronic Disease Management: Support remote communities with ongoing management of chronic conditions.
