Job summary

Good to Great Schools Australia (GGSA) is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to build and maintain web, mobile, and AI-powered backend services. You’ll work across Next.js, React Native, Payload CMS, Python/FastAPI, and a data-driven product used in schools.

You will own API contracts, implement i18n, ensure tests pass with Jest/Pytest, and collaborate with a small team to ship reliable features to users in a fully remote setup based in Australia or NZ.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years as a full stack developer.
• Strong TS, React, Next.js and Node.js skills.
• Experience with Python and FastAPI.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and automated testing.
• A tertiary qualification in software engineering, CS or IT, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Build front-end features in Next.js (React) and mobile apps in React Native / Expo.
• Build backend services, authentication and the CMS with Payload on Node.js.
• Build and maintain the Python AI microservice with FastAPI.
• Own and document the API contract (OpenAPI) and keep onboarding and developer setup documentation current.
• Implement internationalisation (i18n) across web and mobile.
• Manage dependencies and licences with GitHub Dependabot and Snyk.
• Write unit and integration tests with Jest and Pytest.
