Job summary

Our client in East Arnhem Land seeks a Field Service Light Vehicle Mechanic to live and work in Ramingining, NT. You will service and maintain local vehicles, including heavy rural fleets, with a focus on Toyota light vehicles and air conditioning repairs.

The role requires a diesel trade certificate and at least three years of experience, plus a driver’s licence and strong customer service skills. You will work in remote communities, with housing provided and flights to Darwin annually.

Qualifications

• Diesel mechanic trade certificate with relevant workshop experience.
• Experience servicing Toyota 4x4 vehicles and light vehicles.
• Strong customer service and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Respectful and culturally sensitive approach in Aboriginal communities.
• Current driver’s licence and a clean driving record.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
• Computer literacy for detailed job records.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing and maintenance for local councils, civil contractors, and government projects.
• Conduct diagnostics and repairs focusing on Toyota light vehicles.
• Perform air conditioning repairs for Toyota vehicles.
• Operate independently to deliver maintenance services in remote communities.
• Maintain accurate records and report defects for timely parts procurement.
