Job summary

OpenTable is hiring an Engineering Manager for Private Dining in Melbourne, Australia. You will lead a growing team building the next generation event management platform for top restaurant groups, while remaining hands-on and technically influential.

You will empower teams, own product architecture, and drive delivery from concept to customer validation, fostering a culture of collaboration and autonomy across time zones.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in people leadership.
• Hands-on software engineer with leadership experience and strong collaboration skills.
• Servant leadership mindset to unlock team potential.
• Excellent planning, organization, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to break complex product requirements into shippable milestones and design tech architectures.

Responsibilities

• Partner with PM, Design, and other engineering teams to deliver on the product roadmap.
• Own the architecture of the products in your domain and maintain a healthy codebase.
• Provide mentorship and tools to empower teams to make independent decisions.
• Drive a culture of trust, accountability, and teamwork across the engineering organization.
• Contribute to hiring and developing engineers to grow the team.
